Members of the current board have made a 2 - 3 year commitment to this project. As we formalize our organizational structure, we plan to stagger the term of board positions to ensure continuity. A main role for the membership director will be to see that we bring in new board members so the board can continue to have the right mix of skills.
We intend to start a strategic planning process once we have completed the initial stages of paddler recruitment, which will provide a vision for the organization, define its long-term goals and determine the key actions required over the next 5 years. All of this, we believe, will help ensure the group's sustainability.
